World of Wedgwood is set to make a welcome appearance on national television as the V&A Wedgwood Collection features in the upcoming Antiques Roadshow episode “Unseen Treasures 1.” The programme airs on Sunday, 30 November 2025, and forms part of the celebrations marking the centenary of the city of Stoke-on-Trent. Viewers can expect a warm spotlight on the region’s world-class ceramic heritage, along with some remarkable archive discoveries.

During filming, presenter Fiona Bruce visited the V&A Wedgwood Collection at World of Wedgwood to explore more than 175,000 artworks and ceramics held in the archives. Her visit uncovers how Josiah Wedgwood earned the title “Potter to Her Majesty” after creating a creamware set for Queen Charlotte. She is also shown two exceptional examples of Wedgwood craftsmanship that remain on display in the galleries, the Portland Vase, which took four years to perfect, and a pair of historic jasperware shoe heels.

The episode also includes a light-hearted moment in the courtyard, where Asian art specialist Alexandra Aguilar invites Fiona to take part in an odd one out challenge.

Chief Curator of the V&A Wedgwood Collection, Catrin Jones, says:

“We were delighted to welcome Antiques Roadshow to the V&A Wedgwood Collection. Our Archivist Lucy Lead showed Fiona some ceramic highlights to mark 250 years of Wedgwood's iconic jasperware. From the Portland Vase to a playful pink jasperware telephone, you can see these extraordinary objects and discover their stories in our galleries today.”
