Families in Cannock are being invited to make the most of the February half-term with a series of free, creative activities taking place in Cannock Park.
Cannock Chase Council is encouraging children, young people, and families to get involved in hands-on workshops and outdoor activities designed to bring the community together and celebrate creativity and nature.
Spray Art Workshops
Following the success of last year’s vibrant spray-painted artwork on the Pavilion, the professional spray artist behind that project is returning to Cannock. Over the coming weeks, they will enhance the external walls of Chase Leisure Centre with new designs.
To mark the project, two free spray art workshops will give young people the chance to try their hand at the technique and share ideas that may be incorporated into the final artwork.
- Monday 16 February: 12pm to 2pm
- Tuesday 17 February: 12pm to 2pm
- All materials are provided; no experience is required.
Family Fun Day
The creative programme continues with a free Family Fun Day in Cannock Park on Wednesday 18 February from 10am to 2pm. The Council’s Countryside Service Team will be on-site offering a range of nature-themed activities.
Families will have the opportunity to:
- Meet the team and learn about their work across Cannock Chase.
- Get up close to some of the grazing cows.
- Find out about volunteering and work experience opportunities.
- Chat with staff about local wildlife.
- Pick up tips on how to make gardens and outdoor spaces more wildlife-friendly.
“We’re delighted to be bringing such a creative and family-friendly programme to Cannock Park this half term. These free events are a great opportunity for children, young people and families to enjoy the outdoors, learn new skills and connect with nature and the community.”
— Councillor Garry Samuels, Deputy Leader of the Council
Alongside the events in Cannock Park, a range of activities will also be taking place in other parks across the district. Residents are encouraged to check local park noticeboards for further details.
