Newcastle-under-Lyme town centre will once again be filled with chrome, colour and character as Castle Classics returns on Saturday 28th March for its popular spring edition.
Delivered by Newcastle-under-Lyme BID and supported by The Red Haired Stokie, Envy Autos Ltd and 6 Towns Radio, the event will transform the Ironmarket and High Street into a showcase of motoring heritage.
Up to 120 vehicles are expected to take part, representing more than a century of automotive history. From early 1900s models through to modern classics of the 1990s and early 2000s, visitors can expect a diverse display of design and engineering, all set within the heart of Newcastle-under-Lyme.
Castle Classics is designed as a free, family friendly daytime event, supporting footfall and encouraging visitors to explore the town’s retail, hospitality and independent business offer while enjoying the vehicle displays.
The Competition
Vehicles will be judged across five categories, with awards presented from the 6 Towns Radio stage on the Ironmarket at 2.30pm:
- Best in Show
- Show & Shine
- Most Unique
- Best Classic
- Best Retro
All registered exhibitors are automatically entered into the competition and, on arrival, will receive a Castle Classics branded air freshener and commemorative car sticker.
“Castle Classics has quickly established itself as a key date in our events calendar. It creates a strong visual presence in the town centre and attracts a wide audience, from dedicated collectors to families enjoying a day out. Events like this are an important part of our wider programme to drive footfall and showcase Newcastle-under-Lyme as a welcoming and vibrant place to visit.”
— Charl Pearce, Newcastle-under-Lyme BID Manager
Mark Davies, who exhibited at the October event says: “It’s great to see such a wide range of vehicles all in one place and to have the chance to chat with other exhibitors throughout the day. The town centre setting makes a real difference — you’re not just in a field somewhere. There are plenty of places to grab a coffee, have a wander and enjoy the atmosphere, and the public engagement is always excellent.”
